It's astonishing how many creative videos YouTube users have been inspired to make by Chloe's song "Walking in the Air." It seems to be a particularly popular song among aficionados of anime culture. But first, here's a fascinating video that was created using the technology of the World of Warcraft video game. But there's no war or warcraft in the video. On the contrary, it's a lovely, peaceful sequence of animated flying shots, and it really suits the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC3wYHQBD1I&fmt=18This video shows dramatic images of two mountain chains in Slovakia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xcjmm1_AoI&fmt=18"Walking in the Air" videos often comprise fantasy-image slideshows. Here are three: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT31IbR7Te4&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZfNFI1SjiU&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBUtaIgLcBM&fmt=18This is a slideshow of anime-rendered faeries: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu_GyfW_AhI&fmt=18Anime angels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Asov6_K-ufE&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDfY5i83lUg&fmt=18General anime images: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEIPPJLSSv8&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGD14qhWsjk&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvvvVPIS_vk&fmt=18This montage collects clipart-type images, some of which are quite nice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYwJaofHZJI&fmt=18This video uses the beginning of the song to show a time-lapse skyscape of moving clouds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzM0LJ0YYxk&fmt=18Turning to the film front, many users have used "Walking in the Air" to back montages of clips from various movies. The first, appropriately enough, is from a fantasy film called The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIaqW2_Oj2I&fmt=18This one collects clips from another animated film, Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCkJ2J4EmdM&fmt=18Here are two cilps montages from Peter Pan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps3KYI329ng&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhczT8m7uiI&fmt=18And now we come to all of the anime. First, clips from a movie called Macross Zero: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I54S0tkDbJY&fmt=18This one assembles clips from Beyond the Clouds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhgKntK1wqk&fmt=18Spirited Away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouOGMZMy-BE&fmt=18Howl's Moving Castle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fMTECYfEWk&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crn9dyPnSWA&fmt=18And here is a selection of clips called "A Sakura Haruno Tribute" -- Sakura Haruno being a fictional anime character: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElQw4T5Wt6M&fmt=18This "Dedication to Hayao Miyazaki" pays tribute to a famous anime director: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5coxro_Hc7E&fmt=18And here are clips from two anime TV series, the first from Sailor Moon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T6vWPwTxFM&fmt=18and this from InuYasha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LDlY5M0ZAI&fmt=18Finally, turning back to videogames as source material, here's a collection of clips from the Final Fantasy videogame: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtL0ASeMzqY&fmt=18And three from a very popular game called Kingdom Hearts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDua66jq7Fw&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zir3rvLjsM&fmt=18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sbnot9RSHjU&fmt=18

Scott wrote: Sometimes I wish I wasn't on dialup That's absolutely tragic, Scott. I couldn't live without my cable connection. I say without any exaggeration that when I converted from dial-up to cable about, oh, four years ago, it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. It changed my life. It made much of the Web that had been basically inaccessble to me suddenly available. So much of the best that one can experience online is in the form of videos now, and because of downloading times, those really can only be viewed with a high-speed connection. When I think of all of the time -- real time, actual minutes and hours of my life -- I lost merely waiting for pages to load up, I kick myself that I didn't switch to cable sooner. Believe me, whatever you need to sacrifice to afford high-speed Internet, it's worth it.

I finally switched to high-speed (infact, I also bought a new laptop also). I just watched the "World of Chloecraft" video. I think it was beautiful. I've said it before... why can't mainstream entertainment, such as MTV and it's ilk, do things like this? There is no violence, no profanity, no degradation, no shock in the video or the song. There is nothing NOT to like about it. But of course, entertainment producers would say that that is exactly why they wouldn't make something like this. So regrettable.

You're right -- sadly so. "World of Chloecraft" -- I genuinely got a smile out of that. Congratulations on your new high-speed. You must be enjoying the versatility. Here are a few more "Walking in the Air" videos I dug up and posted elsewhere. First, a Chloe photo slideshow, with the photos blended with images of flowers. It's very pretty. Made by a Czech fan, apparently. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWAKO5P32N0&fmt=18Here's one with a sequence of idyllic images of hot-air balloons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNhahCnNWJ0&fmt=18Odd, but the pictures do fit the song -- "Walking in the Air." And here's a slideshow of images taken by the Hubble Telescope: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihFlhqvXYZk&fmt=18It includes the lyrics. That takes the idea of walking in the air to beyond the stratosphere. Too bad the song is abbreviated, though Oh, and one more now -- a new one. A video called "Bubbles," which...well, it delivers what it promises. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfW0nc_IzKI&fmt=18Cute pictures.

Another selection of Final Fantasy clips comprise this "Walking in the Air" fan video. The visuals are interesting, and cut sympathetically to the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqObZWzwkB8&fmt=18It makes me wonder what this Final Fantasy entity is all about...
