Hey everyone, I just thought I'd share with you all a song I wrote (I've written many, but I consider this one to be my best work so far). :) It's entitled "Conformity":

Routine of the day is routine of the year.
Everyday I wake up, I feel no fear.
Yet my heart still aches for an invisible
Change
Night after day and day after night,
Nothing will be different, nothing strange.

I don’t comprehend the slowness of pace.
I sit in a classroom of claustrophobic space.
The world is going on, and I want to see it.
But I can’t ever leave, so I can’t even feel it.
I am locked in a cage, such a cage.

Chorus
When day by day is all the same,
Nothing will ever change,
Never twist around or
For good rearrange.

The outside world is a lie,
Mind and body are confined
To the room we must call home.
No one will ever know…

Routine of the day is routine of the year.
I sit in the bus gazing out the rear.
I wish it was reversed, going the other way.
I could go back home,
And be there to stay.

I see my friend Susie peering out too.
She feels in many ways just the way I do.
If only she and I could escape this pain,
Then we would move away, away from these days.

Chorus
When day by day is all the same,
Nothing will ever change,
Never twist around or
For good rearrange.

The outside world is a lie,
Mind and body are confined
To the room we must call home.
No one will ever know…

I know, it's a pessimistic song, but I was feeling quite upset the day I wrote it, and what I write is easily influenced by my moods, so, I hope you enjoyed it! :D

Hey Rebecca,

Thanks!! And I hate to say this, but so far I have no melody yet. I have many songs that currently don't, as developing a melody and harmony as well is extremely difficult, I'd say the hardest part of the songwriting process. I haven't even decided on the style yet, although I'd say this would be a good Nu Metal song lol. :D

Peace!

kylerama

:) Okay, I'll try my best not to make it sound like any form of metal (although I enjoy much metal quite a bit!!!). But the overall feel of the lyrics suggest it would go well with a style resembling that of a heavy Linkin Park song (try "Given Up" from their latest album "Minutes to Midnight" for reference). Linkin Park isn't true metal though.

Regards!

yes some metal songs are quite good, but just not my cup of tea, i prefer instead reggae :)
but that depends on my mood. so good luck with your song!
